One teenage youth was discovered deceased only a few days after being falsely accused of taking the ashes of a deceased infant during a burglary, a coroner's inquiry has heard.

Heartbreaking Finding

The young boy's parents found his body in his room at his Flintshire residence on November 19th, 2021.

Untrue Accusations Start

The investigation learned how his mother got a message on 8 November 2021 via online platforms, from a woman asking if her son was her offspring. The message stated: "Tell him appreciation for burgling my apartment."

In a testimony read to the court, Lisa Lloyd said the woman had been in the news, asserting her infant's remains had been stolen in a break-in - a allegation which was untrue.

Police Inquiry

An investigation report from police later concluded the supposed burglary victim had "lied to police" and "it now appears that the property was not taken in the beginning".

Media reports about the supposed stolen ashes generated online comments, and although Kai was not identified in the posts, his parent said individuals "knew it was him".

The "social media content were really distressing", she stated.

Emotional Wellbeing Effect

She explained that her son had been diagnosed with moderate attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and as part of that condition, other individuals' views genuinely were important to him.

"This must have hurt him deeply," she commented, "particularly when this was untrue".

Kai was arrested at home, but no evidence was found. He was transported to a law enforcement facility and later freed pending further inquiry.

Authorities said they would be in contact, the inquest learned, but had not contacted the family by the moment of his passing.

Isolation and Anxiety

His parent said her son "withdrew into himself" after the detention and "repeatedly inquired me whether I had received anything from the police", because his ADHD meant sometimes "certain periods could seem like much longer".

When she talked to him about the supposed incident, she said her son told her he had gone into the house because the resident who resided there had said he could use the toilet anytime he needed, but refuted taking anything.

Digital Harassment

In a joint statement between her and her husband, Mrs Lloyd said her son was being bullied online after the allegations.

The proceedings learned that one young adult urged Kai to end his life.

She had no worries on the night before he died, describing how she had listened to him "laughing and teasing".

She described him as a "compassionate, loving" young man, and said her "relatives is completely devastated".

He had been "obviously concealing his worries", she said, adding that he could not stand to have anybody "think bad of him".

Educational Reaction

The inquest heard from educational personnel at Connah's Quay secondary school.

On November 8th, she "heard some boys talking that Kai had been detained and that was the initial I learned".

"He told me... he'd done nothing wrong," she added.

After the discussion, the educator said she called Kai's family landline and provided a message saying she had spoken to Kai about the accusations.

The proceedings learned his family said they did not got that message.

Formal Conclusion

Senior investigator informed the inquest he would wait for documents regarding what improvements had been made to handling suspects with the condition, before deciding whether he should make a avoidance of subsequent fatalities report.

Delivering a narrative conclusion, he stated: "Approximately 8 November 2021, unsupported allegations were made against Kai Benjamin Lloyd, a 14-year-old individual.

"Likely untruths were afterwards embellished and exaggerated through the platform of online networks.

"On 11 November, he was interviewed by the police and following his questioning he was released while inquiries proceeded."

The coroner concluded: "There is no evidence that the actions or omissions of any organization led to or contributed to his death and although it was the outcome of a personal act it is not possible to determine his intent."
