The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets have started writing on PS5 topics for the first time. 2025 was complete chaos for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft still intends to attract subscribers with strong games on its premier subscription.
The Current Inclusions
A pair of titles that are immediately available today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Major Titles on the Horizon
On Jan. 13, the subscription service will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of horror and action."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
Yet, the less-hyped additions set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th β and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, also warrants your attention. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine β Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around β rendering them ideal prospects to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
