Donald Trump Promises Tough Action Following Decapitation of Indian-origin Motel Owner
President Donald Trump has sharply criticized the violent killing of a motel manager of Indian descent motel supervisor in Texas recently.
"The time for being soft on these illegal aliens is FINISHED under my leadership," the President declared in a message on his social media platform.
Background of the Shocking Attack
Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah, 50, was allegedly attacked with a knife by his colleague Yordanis Cobos-Martinez in front of his wife and child after a dispute over a broken appliance.
The suspect, who is now in jail, has been charged with homicide.
Trump’s Statement
President Trump stated that the accused "faces prosecution to the maximum of the law" and is to be "indicted for murder in the highest degree."
He also targeted the current administration, stating that Mr Cobos-Martinez had been previously arrested for multiple offenses, including alleged child abuse, but was "released back into society because his home country declined to accept his return."
Legal Background of the Accused
According to official sources, Mr Cobos-Martinez is an unauthorized migrant with a final order of deportation from the US.
He was allegedly in custody at a center in Dallas but was released on an monitoring order in January after Cuba "refused to accept him due to his record."
Deceased’s Life
Nagamallaiah, who originated from the Indian state of Karnataka, worked at the Downtown Suites Motel in Dallas.
He attended educational institutions in Bangalore, southern India, before relocating to the US in 2018. His child just finished high school and is preparing to begin college.
Details of the Attack
The assault occurred on 10 September. Law enforcement received a "stabbing call" and confirmed through investigation that the accused had attacked the victim repeatedly with an blade.
ICE has placed a detainer on the suspect at the Dallas County Jail, where he remains in custody.

Nagamallaiah’s last rites were held on September 13 in Texas, attended by family and friends.
A fundraiser launched to support his family has raised over $321,000 to date.
